The oldest major championship in world golf, the British Open known

commonly as "The Open Championship," is the third of the four major tournaments in golf on the Calendar. Each year the name of the winner is inscribed on the famous Claret Jug. The first winner was Willie Park

in 1860 and this year Darren Clarke won at Royal St Georges Golf Club in England. In 2012 The Open Championship will be once again held south

of the border at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club in

Lancashire, England. This is a an extremely popular event

and accommodation can become scarce

so early booking is strongly advised!

The Masters, Unlike the other major golf championships is held each year at

the same location, Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. The field of

players is always smaller than the other major championships because

it is a strictly invitational event, with entries being governed by the

Augusta National Golf Club itself. The tournament has a number of traditions.

A green jacket has been awarded to the winner since 1949, which must be returned to the clubhouse after a year. The Champions dinner

was inaugurated by Ben Hogan in 1952 and is held on

the Tuesday evening before each tournament. We have

packages for this amazing spectacle but as places are always

slightly limited contacting us now is essential!
